Preparation of the Bride of Christ 101

This course is very close to my heart. This is a book that I wrote many years ago that was never intended to be anything more than intimate time between myself and my Lord. I simply took dictation as He revealed deep spiritual truths to me, which, honestly, were a bit hard to take.

I wrote this through many tears, as the Lord revealed to me my "Christian sins" that were keeping me from greater intimacy with Him. I only shared these because He told me this was for the Body of Christ and that within lies a seed of revival.

I would caution anyone who wants to take this course. This is not for everyone. God makes a distinction that new believers need spiritual milk, while mature believers need meat. "In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil." (Hebrews 5:12-14)

In Hebrews 6, the Lord tells us what constitutes the elementary teachings, or milk, of God's Word, "So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.." (Hebrews 6:1-3, NLT)

So, to recap, spiritual milk, which is foundational to every believer, includes: repentance from evil deeds, faith in God, baptisms, laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. In contrast, the meat of God's Word is the teaching about righteousness, which is only for mature believers who have trained themselves to discern good from evil.

This is meat. Babes in Christ may choke on it, so I want to make it clear that this is not for everyone. This is about righteousness and deep spiritual things that cannot be understood by a carnal person living in our old human nature. "The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit." (1 Corinthians 2:14)

So, mature believers, who are filled with God's Spirit, I both welcome you and apologize in advance. I will be inviting you into God's operating room. It is He who will reveal to you anything in your life that needs to be removed by the Master Surgeon, Himself. His Word is a two-edged sword--it cuts us, letting us know how desperately we need Him, and it heals us, as only He can do. If you will submit to this healing/ cleansing work, you will find yourself in more intimate fellowship with our Lord than you have ever experienced. I do believe that is the desire of every human heart.
