What We Believe

Our Statement of Faith

THE WORD OF GOD
The Seed
The seed Is the Word of God… (Luke 8:11)

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the true Word of God, the foundation of Christian faith, understanding, life and ministry. The Scriptures are without error and are not to be added to, taken from, or changed by tradition or supposed revelation:

For ever, O Lord, thy Word is settled in Heaven. (Psalms 119:89)

THE TRIUNE GOD
The Lord of the Harvest
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the Harvest… (Matthew 9:38)

The Godhead consists of God the Father, God the Son, Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit:
For there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (I John 5:8)

God The Father: There is but one God, unlimited, eternal and perfect, Creator of Heaven and earth:
For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain; He formed it to be inhabited; I am the Lord, and there is none else. (Isaiah 45:18)

God The Son, Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He was the perfect sacrifice for the sin of all mankind through His death and the shedding of His blood. He arose from the dead in His own glorified body, appeared to many, ascended into Heaven, and will return to earth in power and glory. He is now the Head of His Body, the Church, victor over all the powers of darkness, and is at the right hand of God making intercession for believers:

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)

God The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit inspired the Word of God, anointed Jesus Christ for His ministry, filled the Church with Pentecostal power, and will transform the mortal bodies of believers in the glory of resurrection. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, unites man to Jesus Christ in faith, brings about the new birth, and dwells within the believer. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ and will be evidenced by the ability to be a powerful witness of our resurrected Lord as well as the confirming sign of Acts 2:4:

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

The gifts of the Spirit are available to the believer through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, who bestows them on every man as He will:
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will. (I Corinthians 12:11)

The Holy Spirit also makes possible the fruit of the Spirit, enabling the believer to grow in sanctification:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance… (Galatians 5:22-23)

MAN
The Sower
Behold there went out a sower to sow. (Mark 4:3)

Man was created by God in the image and likeness of God. Through the original sin of Adam and Eve, all men became sinful in nature. Man is totally incapable of returning to God in himself, and is lost without hope apart from the salvation of Jesus Christ:

And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from Heaven. (I Corinthians 15:45-47)

SALVATION
The Harvest
But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the Word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit…(Matthew 13:23)

Salvation is the gift of God through grace and faith in Jesus Christ. There is no name except that of Jesus Christ by which mankind may be saved. By turning from sin, bringing forth the fruit of repentance, and trusting in Christ and His death for the sins of all, man is born again to eternal life by the Holy Spirit. Through this redemptive act comes forgiveness of sin, liberation from bondage of the world, and freedom in the Spirit of God.

For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through (your) faith. And this (salvation) is not of yourselves–of your own doing, it came not through your own striving–but it is the gift of God; Not because of works (not of the fulfillment of the Law’s demands), lest any man should boast.–It is not the result of what any one can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself. (Ephesians 2:8-9, The Amplified Bible)

THE CHURCH
The Laborers
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that He will send forth laborers into His harvest. (Matthew 9:38)

The Church is the Body and Bride of Christ. The primary mission of the Church is to teach all nations and to make disciples, taking the Gospel of the Kingdom to all men and nations with confirming signs:

And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature (of the whole human race). He who believes– (that is,) who adheres to and trusts in and relies on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth–and is baptized will be saved (from the penalty of eternal death); but he who does not believe–who does not adhere to and trust in and rely on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth–will be condemned. And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; they will pick up serpents, and (even) if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well. (Mark 16:15-18, The Amplified Bible)

THE CONSUMMATION
The Final Harvest
Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. (Revelation 14:15)

The consummation [the end] of all things includes the visible and glorious return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the translation of those alive in Christ unto the judgment of the just and the unjust. Satan with his hosts and all men outside Christ will be separated from the presence of God to endure eternal punishment while the redeemed will be in the presence of God for eternity:

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air…  (I Thessalonians 4:13-17)

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. (Revelation 20:12)

About In His Hands International Ministries & Bible College

WHO WE ARE: Paul and Elizabeth Paige Chavoustie are the Founders of In His Hands International Ministries and Bible College, a Florida, USA non-profit ministry. We are so happy to have you study God's Word with us!!! This is a ministry of the Lord from start to finish, and we are simply one of many vessels by whom He is getting His Word out to the nations. Let me, Elizabeth Paige, tell you how it all got started. In 1998, at the tender age of 25, as a brand-new wife and believer, after three days of intensely praying and asking God seven most important words that all believers should ask, "What do You want with my life?", He answered me clearly--laying out the first few steps that would change my life forever and transform my thoughts on what ministry truly is. In response to that prayer, God directed me to my calling. "Adopt two children from another country and start a Christian school and teach." Quite honestly, the latter seemed easier, so I tried it first and was shut down at every attempt. God has an order and timing about all things. His ways are perfect. He had two specific children on the other side of the world, in completely hopeless situations, on two different continents, to whom He had called me, out of every woman on earth, to be their mother. Through prayer, He directed me with laser accuracy to the country, the agency, and the exact children He had chosen for me. Two questions that are at the pinnacle of why I seek God in everything and obey Him even when it hurts, besides my complete love and devotion for Him is this, "What if I wouldn't have obeyed? What if I wouldn't have ever asked?" Not only was it a huge honor to be the chosen mother of these precious children, who were 8 and 11 when we adopted them, who had gone through so much---and He was calling me to lay down my life to envelope them in Isaiah 61--the prophesy of the Messiah, and the call to all Christians. "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations." (Isaiah 61:1-4) And so began my full-time ministry--no titles, no honors, no fancy buildings--but bringing hope to the hopeless, one prayer and one tear at a time. Through this and many other aspects of my calling, through many years, many mountains, and many valleys, I am learning a lot about the heart of our Heavenly Father, the love He has for all people, how challenging it really is to love the unlovable and to forgive without measure, to lay down our lives for the lost and the suffering, and to fully surrender our lives to the King of kings, whose love knows no bounds. (I do believe this really is impossible without being born again and being filled with His Holy Spirit. This is His regenerative work in us--nothing we can accomplish on our own.) The second aspect of my calling is why I started this--and, quite honestly, why it's taken me 20 years to get here. The first problem is I thought that I had to wait until some human with authority appointed (and, let's be honest...paid me) to do what God called me to do. But, what does the Bible say, "A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men." (Proverbs 18:16) The calling is from God and it is to Him alone that we stand. Although I have been a Bible teacher for 20 years and helped plant and pastor a church, and have many "credentials", I find myself overwhelmed with my own weakness and frailty to properly build a school to teach His Word. Think about it...in a way, who on earth can possibly be qualified to teach the unfathomable riches of the wisdom and glory of Christ? None of us are perfect. The best of our understanding is like seeing through a glass dimly, so how can anyone, even with the help of the Holy Spirit, rightly divide the Word of Truth? Since there is no limit to His Word--it is alive and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword--how can anyone tell you that you have completed your education? Aren't we always learning? Won't we always be growing? Can anyone really share the lessons that are only learned in the storms and fiery furnaces of our own lives? We are all called to teach and share the Gospel, so even if, in our human frailty, we can teach God's Word with grace and truth, how can anyone measure what each student knows and what is in their heart, but God alone? Who on earth can qualify or disqualify someone to whom God has called? As I wrestled with all of these things, God planted a powerful nugget of truth in my heart which happened to be at a time when I had broken my ankle and was having to mistreat my knees, shoulders, back, and armpits to compensate for the broken body part. He said, "You are just an elbow. You sit around with other elbows and talk about how great elbows are, but in so doing, you miss out on the functionality of the whole Body." Each of us is a part of the Body and has a specific design and function. So, in putting together this Free Bible College Online, I am really doing nothing more than making available powerful, anointed teachings by different parts of the Body, each operating in their unique calling and gifting, so that each of us, in our unique callings and giftings, can better prepare ourselves to be vessels useful for our King, so that He can do His mighty works in this world through us--His Body. So, my focus is to encourage and empower you to do what God has already qualified you to do. If I can impart anything to you, let it be this: Give Him everything. (That means everything--your hopes, your dreams, your future, your security, your ideas, your family, your career, your way of doing things, even your religious beliefs.) Lay it all down as a sacrifice. "For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Me will find it." (Matthew 16:25) Take up your cross and follow Him. (Matthew 16:24) (If you have given your life to the Lord, it no longer belongs to you. No matter where He leads you, know that He is Emmanuel--God with us--and He will never leave you nor forsake you, so trust Him fully no matter the cost. He has already gone before you and He is your rear guard. He has already made a way where there is no way. Just remember that His ways are not your ways. Neither are His thoughts your thoughts. His are infinitely higher, so don't expect them to line up with one another. They won't. And pour yourself out in the service of mankind. Love the unlovable. Tangibly. Bind up the broken-hearted. In ways they can feel. Set the captives free. It is by our love that people will know that we are His. Give that love freely. Expect nothing in return. (It doesn't matter if you have a degree or a title or a job description that says you can--that's why we're not even bothering with that here--you are a child of the Most High God and you are a king and priest unto Him, therefore nothing is impossible, if you believe.) This world is lost and broken and in desperate need of hope and the Savior of their souls. We can help bring His Kingdom authority into this broken world by learning to better hear our Good Shepherd, learning to submit to Him, and by being prepared to do His will in the earth, through the truth of His Word, the power of the name and blood of Jesus, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. God bless you all as we serve Him together, with a pursuit of life-long personal growth, as we receive tools to encourage our faith and to be a blessing to the world around us, and as we learn to function as the Body should, in the unity of brotherly love in the Spirit!

FAQ

  • Where are you located and is there a brick and mortar school that someone can attend?

Our headquarters is in the state of Florida, in the United States of America. We are an online Bible College with no physical location, but that makes us accessible to everyone, anywhere in the world.

  • Do you have the authority to grant degrees?

Yes. In fact, here is a quote from the State of Florida's Commission for Independent Education, giving that authorization. "At the regularly scheduled virtual meeting of the Commission for Independent Education held on January 26, 2023, your institution’s annual verification by sworn affidavit was presented to the Commission for review. The Commission accepted the affidavit as having complied with Section 1005.06(1)(f), Florida Statutes pursuant to religious institutions. This letter serves as notification that your institution has met the requirements of state law and is not subject to governmental oversight." Here is that statute: "Section 1005.06 (1) (f), F.S. reads: A religious college may operate without governmental oversight if the college annually verifies by sworn affidavit to the commission that: The name of the institution includes a religious modifier or the name of a religious patriarch, saint, person, or symbol of the church. The institution offers only educational programs that prepare students for religious vocations as ministers, professionals, or laypersons in the categories of ministry, counseling, theology, education, administration, music, fine arts, media communications, or social work. The titles of degrees issued by the institution cannot be confused with secular degree titles. For this purpose, each degree title must include a religious modifier that immediately precedes, or is included within, any of the following degrees: Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, Master of Science, Doctor of Philosophy, and Doctor of Education. The religious modifier must be placed on the title line of the degree, on the transcript, and whenever the title of the degree appears in official school documents or publications."

  • Is In His Hands International Bible College Accredited?

The definition of accreditation is, "the action or process of officially recognizing someone as having a particular status or being qualified to perform a particular activity". The short answer is yes, we are accredited by the American Accrediting Association of Theological Institutions. The long answer is that accreditation is a tricky thing because there is no accreditation that is accepted at all institutions or within all regions, nations, or internationally, and many times, when a Christian institution of higher learning surrenders their institution to the oversight of bureaucracies and governments, at best, they may water down the truth of the Gospel, and at worst, they may succumb to the woke, anti-Biblical agenda that is sweeping across all nations and institutions, whether they are labeled Christian or not. For us, staying true to the Word of God; adhering to time-tested, pure, sound, theological training; and providing free or Iow-cost Biblical education to anyone, anywhere in the world, is at the heart of our mission and something we won't compromise on. In general terms, the main reason that people seek accreditation is to be able to get financial aid, which we have solved by not making our education expensive, or because people want an institution that is recognized by their particular government so that credits received would be transferable to other colleges and institutions of higher learning. The problem with a Christian college submitting itself to a secular agency under the power of any federal government, is that it then puts itself under the authority of that governing body to dictate what it can or cannot teach its students. You can even see now across our great nation (the USA), many wonderful Christian colleges who are forced to add programs to their curriculum that do not line up with the Word of God, but the culture, which is constantly shifting. That is a problem, indeed, and we will not conform to anything that does not line up with Scripture. We will be intentional in this and only become accredited with agencies who will give us Biblical oversight without compromise to God's Word and our ministry's mission. Our key goal is to train up believers in God's Word and empower them to be able to effectively minister and carry out the Great Commission of Christ, sharing the Gospel and being able to then train up others for the Kingdom, worldwide, without barriers of time, location, education, or financial status...and forcing no one into the slavery of debt.
