  • You will need to submit copies of your Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's Degrees and transcripts, your testimony, and statement of faith

  • This is a self-study, which you will have 48 months to complete

  • You will need to prayerfully read through the Bible in its entirety, twice

  • You will need to precisely follow the Thesis Instructions that you will receive upon enrollment, writing a 60,000-100,000 word thesis on three of the topics given ( The Doctrine of Salvation, The Doctrine of Grace, The Doctrine of the Atonement, the Doctrine of the Covenant, the Doctrine of the Blood Covenant and Sacrifice, The Doctrine of Faith, Christian Ministry Principles, Christian Evangelism Principles, The Parables of Jesus, The Miracles of Jesus, The Old Testament Prophesies Fulfilled in Jesus, The Ministry of the Holy Spirit, The Father Heart of God, Faith Leadership Principles, The Doctrine of Regeneration, The Doctrine of the New Birth, Biblical Hero Profile, Faith of the Patriarchs, A Christian's Jewish Roots, Faith for Healing, The Foreshadowing of Jesus in the Old Testament, Old Testament Survey, The Jewish Feasts Revealed in Christ, New Testament Survey, The Names of God, Proverbial Wisdom, The Heart of King David, The Doctrine of Sanctification and Holiness, The Doctrine of Baptism--Water/Fire/Holy Spirit, Biblical Wisdom vs Foolishness, The Power of the Tongue/ Blessings/ Cursings, Effective Prayers that Move Heaven and Change Earth, The Believer's Authority on Earth, The Power of Forgiveness, God's Original Intent for Humanity, True Religion/ The Ministry to Orphans and Widows/ Keeping Oneself from being Polluted by the World, Grace/ Mercy/ Judgement, What the Bible says about Heaven and Hell, In-Depth Study of One Book of the Bible, or All the Books of the Bible Overview Biblical Discipleship, Biblical Healing, The Principles of the Kingdom of God, or All the Books of the Bible Overview), with a minimum of 50 cited Bible references per topic, or 150 total. If you have written a thesis for your Master's Degree through In His Hands International Bible College, you will need to pick three different topics.

  • OR you can write 66 sermons, one from each book of the Bible, showing the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, and the Salvation and Redemption Plan through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, seen in every single book of the Bible. Each sermon will need to be a minimum of 1,000 words with a minimum of 3 Scripture references for each Old Testament book, and 2 Scripture references for each New Testament book, totaling 171 total Bible references.

This doctoral orientation and readiness course prepares prospective students for enrollment into the Doctor of Education in Biblical Theology (EdDBT) Degree Program through review of dissertation expectations, advanced research standards, graduate-level academic writing requirements, theological integration, ministry leadership application, Bible reading expectations, and independent doctoral study procedures.

Students will examine the structure of the dissertation-based doctoral program, including academic rigor, spiritual formation goals, dissertation development procedures, research expectations, enrollment policies, tuition structure, institutional standards for academic integrity, and successful strategies for completing advanced doctoral-level biblical and theological studies.

The orientation process is designed to help students prayerfully evaluate their readiness for disciplined doctoral research, advanced theological reflection, independent scholarship, ministry leadership development, and sustained academic and spiritual commitment prior to official enrollment into the Doctor of Education in Biblical Theology Degree Program.

Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Biblical Theology Degree Program Overview & Expectations

The Thesis-Only Doctor of Education in Biblical Theology is designed for qualified students who have completed prior graduate-level coursework and are prepared to demonstrate doctoral-level mastery through original research and scholarly writing. The program emphasizes biblical theology, ministry application, and academic contribution to Christian education and leadership.

To successfully complete the program, students are expected to:

• Develop and submit a doctoral-level dissertation/thesis proposal focused on biblical studies, theology, Christian education, or ministry leadership
 • Conduct independent, in-depth research using reputable scholarly, theological, and biblical sources
 • Produce a comprehensive doctoral dissertation/thesis that demonstrates original contribution, critical analysis, and advanced theological understanding
 • Apply proper academic formatting, citation, and research methodology consistent with doctoral standards
 • Complete all required revisions and meet established submission deadlines
 • Maintain consistent communication with assigned academic supervisors or program reviewers (if applicable)

Please note: Degree conferral is contingent upon satisfactory completion, review, and final approval of the doctoral thesis. Student progress, submissions, and academic activity may be reviewed at any time prior to final degree approval.

Submission Requirements

To receive credit and doctoral degree approval:

• All written work must be original, independently produced by the student, and reflective of doctoral-level scholarship
 • Accurate academic citation and consistent formatting are required throughout the dissertation/thesis
 • Plagiarism, in whole or in part, is strictly prohibited
 • The use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools (including but not limited to ChatGPT or similar systems) to generate dissertation content, research analysis, or written sections is not permitted, unless explicitly authorized in writing by the institution
 • All proposals, drafts, revisions, and final documents must be submitted through the designated online platform or approved submission method as instructed

Violations of submission guidelines or academic integrity standards may result in dissertation rejection, program dismissal, or denial of the doctoral degree.
